What does God want for you?
God loves you and wants you to have a life full of joy, peace, and purpose that enables you to be with Him in heaven for eternity. He sent His son Jesus to share this message of hope. Jesus said that He did not come to the world to condemn the world but to save it (John 3:17). He also said that He came that we may have life more abundantly than we thought possible (John 10:10).
You are one choice away from experiencing this relationship with God?
God wants us to freely love Him. The problem is, because of our human nature, we like to decide for ourselves what’s best for us; what’s right and wrong, good and bad. When we think our way is better than God’s way, the result is a separation between us and God.
This separation is the result or consequence of sin. Our sin makes us guilty before God and the penalty for our sin is death. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Through the ages, people have tried to eliminate this separation with good works, religion, philosophy, and morality. But none has proven successful. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death” (Proverbs 14:12).
The Good News
Jesus Christ brings us into an eternal relationship with God. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus took our penalty of death upon Himself and God accepted His death on the cross as payment for our sins. Three days later He conquered death and rose from the grave. “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ” (1 Timothy 2:5). God sacrificed His Son to restore our relationship with Him. He is asking you now to begin a new life with Him.
How should you respond?
Picture yourself separated from God for eternity. Because of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for you, a new, joyful relationship with God is now within reach. But to begin this new life you must take that step of faith and trust that Jesus Christ can and will give you this new life.
Jesus is offering you forgiveness of all sin, past, present and future. In Jesus Christ is eternal life that God has promised is yours if you trust Him and accept it. God requires a response from you. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
If you would like to receive Jesus Christ right now just pray this simple prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins. I want to repent and turn from my sins and experience a life of joy and peace in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, you are now my Lord and Savior. Come into my heart and life and help me to follow you in obedience each day, forever more. Amen.
